William Philp lives in Forfar.
He studied art at Duncan of Jordanston Collage of Art in the 1970s under Alberto Morocco, Jack Knox and Bill Cadenhead among others.
It was there that he developed his lifelong interest in abstract art.
He exhibited in the Compass Gallery in the 1980s and the Atholl Gallery, Dunkeld during he 1990s. More recently he has shown at Queen’s Gallery, Dundee and Kinblethmont Gallery. He had a one man show in Berlin in 2002. He continues to show in the Meffan Gallery, Forfar on a regular basis.
